A heartbreaking and truly shocking story out of Beirut today as it was revealed that unidentified individuals have committed a gross crime against a person experiencing homelessness.
The man, who lives under the Fiat Bridge, is known for selling books in the very space where he sleeps most nights. Now, it appears as though a criminal has set all his books on fire, effectively ending his ability to earn a modest living.
This man made headlines last week when he was visited by the Minister of Culture who gifted him some books instead of helping him with his lack of housing.
In the absence of government agencies, we sincerely hope that this man now catches the attention of NGOs or organizations who can step in and make a difference.
