Weekend Roundup: 6 Things You Might Have Missed

It was quite an eventful weekend! Here are six things you may have missed in the never-ending news cycle.


1. Protestors gathered in Beirut, urging Saad Hariri to participate in upcoming elections.


It appears as though former Prime Minster Saad Hariri is playing hard to get! He has alluded to the fact that he may boycott the upcoming elections for a variety of factors. In response, supporters gathered around his “Beit el Wasat” residence, urging him to participate. Hariri has announced that he will make a final decision regarding elections today. While protestors were there, Hariri left to meet with Berri.


2. Protestors took to the streets to voice rage against banks.


Citizens gathered in front of Hamra’s Central Bank and the Association of Banks in Downtown Beirut to reject the banking systems’ gross violations and actions that have compounded into the existing financial crisis.


3. One person sadly dies while taking a selfie during the storm.


On Sunday evening, as some people were taking a selfie in Ain el Mreisseh, one sadly fell into the water and died as a result of injuries. May they rest in peace.


4. Lebanon’s magical deer caught on camera.

Urging cooperation and partnerships between Lebanon and the Gulf states.
